Production of components for driving gears and stationary gas turbines comprises: primary deforming spray-compacted particle-reinforced light metallic material based on aluminum and/or magnesium at a prescribed temperature to form blanks; and carrying out secondary deforming at a prescribed temperature to form the components. Preferred Features: The spray-compacted particle-reinforced light metallic material is made from alloys selected from Al-Cu-Mg-Ti-Zr-Ag or Al-Cu-Mg-Mn. The reinforcing particles are made from silicon carbide. The primary and/or secondary deformation steps are carried out at 400-550[deg]C, especially 450-500[deg] C.
