The support as in parent patent has a gastight sealed deformable cover contg. solid filler material in the form of one or more smooth or rough strips, these strips, after the removal of air from the cover, being pressed together as a laminate under the action of the atmospheric pressure, and in this addn consisting of flexible, porous matrices placed in at least two directions perpendicular to each other. Used medically for supporting parts of the human body. The support combined stiffness with a low wt. Pref. the matrices are of polyurethane or polystyrene foam.
