METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING REVERSE LINK

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for transmitting a reverse link is provided to control each transmission rate according to a mobile station by dedicatedly transmitting an RAB(Reverse Activity Bit) to each mobile station with reference to load information of reverse information and a mobile station distance. CONSTITUTION: A base station measures an interference level of an entire traffic channel(51). The base station compares the interference level with a threshold value(52), and measures a load of a reverse link(53). An RAB about each mobile station is determined using load information and distance information between the base station and each mobile station, and an initial offset value for determining the position of each mobile station(RAB position) and a relative offset value for decimating a code generated in a long code generator are added to an I signal and a Q signal in multiplexers for determining the RAB position in a channel slot for classifying each mobile station(54). The determined RAB is transmitted to each mobile station using a dedicatedly operated common channel(55).
