PURPOSE: A method for managing a menu in a mobile communication terminal is provided to efficiently display the menu by displaying an entire menu composed in the mobile communication terminal as an icon. CONSTITUTION: A control unit displays a plurality of menu icons and menu explanation windows(103). The control unit displays the movement of a cursor and a menu name of a menu icon on which the cursor is located on the menu explanation window according to the input of a directional key(105). The control unit judges whether a selection key is inputted(107). If the selection key is inputted, the control unit selects the menu icon on which the cursor is located(109). The control unit judges whether a lower menu exists in a menu corresponding to the selected menu icon(111). If the lower menu exists, the control unit judges whether the lower menu of the menu is one or less(113). If the lower menu of the menu is one or less, the control unit displays the list of the lower menu and stops all operations(115). If the lower menu of the menu is two or more, the control unit displays a menu icon of the lower menu(119) and repeatedly performs the operations(105-119). If the lower menu does not exist, the control unit displays a functional message of the menu corresponding to the selected menu icon and stops all operations(117).
