PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel which is used for fishing, can prevent the deformation of a guide shaft engaged with the sliding member of an oscillating mechanism, even when an impact force is added to the oscillating mechanism, and enables the stable longitudinal movement of the sliding member without being shaken. SOLUTION: This spinning reel for the fishing has the oscillating mechanism having a sliding member 24 which is reciprocated in the axial direction of a traverse cam 22, and a guide shaft 38 for guiding the reciprocating movement of the sliding member 24. A guide groove 60 having an opening to be engaged with the guide shaft 38 is formed in the sliding member 24, and comprises a thick diameter portion 60a to be engaged with the guide shaft 38 and a communication groove 60b which is thinner than the outer diameter of the guide shaft 38 and is opened so that the thick diameter portion 60a communicates with the outside.
