PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a squealing phenomenon causing vibration noise from an air pad. SOLUTION: In this levitation traveling device, the air pad is arranged in the lower part of a vehicle, and when compressed air is jetted from the air pad to a track surface, the vehicle is floated for travel. In the levitation traveling device, sound absorbing materials are radially stuck to a pad rubber 5b constituting the air pad. The sound absorbing materials can be stuck onto the inside face of the pad rubber 5b. The sound absorbing materials can be stuck to the lower face of a bottom plate attached to the pad rubber. As the sound absorbing material in this levitations traveling device, a sponge 18 can be used.
