A safety retention shoe is for a cut-out switch fitted with a safety mechanism. It is mounted in a housing and the safety mechanism is switched off when a fuse is inserted in the retention shoe. The safety mechanism consists of a triangular setting arm, which can pivot around a fixed spindle. It forms the corner of the triangle. The setting-arm actuates the cutout contact element via a push-button at a second corner of the triangle. The contact element operates against the action of a spring. The third corner of the triangle is linked ot the manual lever.
