PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission module of an optical network that can perform reliable, high-speed emergency stop and interlocking without providing any cables for exclusive use for emergency stop and interlocking. SOLUTION: The optical transmission module has a timer 2 for outputting 0 to an AND logic circuit 3 for stopping data transmission for fixed time when an emergency stop input signal is inputted to the optical transmission module of an optical network for communication packets using an optical fiber capable, an analysis section 8 for outputting an emergency stop output signal when it confirms that no data reception via the optical fiber cable is available for fixed time, a protocol reaction section 7 for automatically superposing interlock information on packets, and an analysis section 9 for outputting an interlock signal by analyzing the packet where the interlock information has been superposed.
