SOLUTION: The track pitch information and recording linear speed information or recording angular speed information of the optical disk itself are recorded by ATIP information, etc., attached with undefined identification information to the lead-in region of the optical disk in a manufacturing process step for the disk. When the disk drive is loaded with this optical disk, the reading of the ATIP information, etc., of the lead-in region is performed and the track pitch information and the recording linear speed information or the recording angular speed information are acquired from the ATIP information, etc. The target number of revolutions of a spindle motor, track jump target distance, etc., in recording and reproducing are computed by utilizing the acquired information.
