PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a velocity modulation circuit which does not deteriorate image quality even in an HDTV. SOLUTION: When constructing a velocity modulation circuit for correcting an outline of an image which is displayed on a tube surface of a television set of a pre-drive circuit 10 and a drive circuit 20, a drive circuit part 20 is formed of a grounded base type single end push - pull circuit which is free from a limitation to high frequency due to the mirror effect and has a very large output impedance, thereby flattening frequency characteristic of the drive current outputted from the velocity modulation circuit up to higher frequency region.
