PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bankbook printer device capable of being handled by the same device even if the position of MS tape varies for every user. SOLUTION: An MSR/W head 3 is mounted on a protector 2 integrated with a printer head 1 and a platen 4 is placed in a position opposite the protector 2 and the MSR/W head 3. The platen 4 is supported by camshafts 5 on each side and moved vertically by the operation of a motor 6. A torque limiter 7 is positioned between the motor 6 and the camshaft 5 to detect the thickness of a medium and stabilize a gap between itself and the printer head 1. A timing belt 8 transmits the motive power of the motor 6 to the torque limiter 7. The medium is pressed against the MSR/W head 3 by the platen 4 under a certain pressure.
