PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a USB hub that can support various ports required by user and can change the number of the ports without changing many pieces of hardware. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the USB hub having soft selection ports. The universal serial bus(USB) hub suited to indicating the number of ports that a user can select includes a universal serial bus(USB) hub suited to facilitating a universal serial bus(USB) communication between a host and a device. A register for storing the actual number of ports that is suited to indicating the number of universal serial bus(USB) ports connected to the universal serial bus(USB) is also provided, and the actual number of ports is suited for the alteration by the user.
