PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems in methods of manufacturing the address electrode of a PDP including a method of exposing, developing, and baking for formation by a photo lithography method and a method of pattern forming and baking a conductive paste by a screen printing method that the forming methods are troublesome, micro pattern formation is difficult, and the inspection and repair processes for cable breakage and short-circuit are also necessary which become one cause of an increased cost of the PDP. SOLUTION: An electrode material is formed on the entire surface of a display area, and a resist is formed on the electrode material. An opening part is formed by exposing and developing the barrier rib forming part of the resist. At the same time, a soluble electrode material is also removed to form an address electrode between barrier ribs.
