PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify inputting of identifying information on an object and to enable easy confirmation of the correspondence relationship between the identifying information of the object inputted before photographing and that of the photographed object when recording the identifying information of the object by linking it with a photographed picture. SOLUTION: In a picture recording apparatus, patient ID is read out from an ID card 11 by an input apparatus 10 to send the patient ID to a computer 12. The computer 12 acquires patient information indicating a corresponding patient's facial portrait and name from a medical database based on the ID to send the patient information together with the ID to a digital camera 30. The camera 30 displays the patient information on a liquid crystal monitor to allow confirmation of the patient who is the object. After confirming the patient, the ID is embedded in the header part of a picture file of the picture photographed by the camera 30, and the file is transmitted to the database 20 and the like.
