PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a detection circuit for line correlation in two-dimensional Y/C separation. SOLUTION: The Y/C separation circuit is provided with 1st-4th correlation data generating means that respectively calculate a difference and a sum between a target line through a BPF and a lower line and a difference and a sum between the target line and an upper line, apply absolute value processing to them, and sum the consecutive data values subjected to absolute value processing to average the data, a 1st minimum value selection means that outputs an output signal from the 1st and 2nd correlation data generating means which is smaller, a 2nd minimum value selection means that outputs an output signal from the 3rd and 4th correlation data generating means which is smaller, a 1st assessment means that calculates an output difference between the 1st and 2nd minimum value selection means and assesses the difference to provide an output, a 2nd assessment means that calculates an output difference between the 1st and 2nd correlation data generating means and assesses the difference to provide an output, a 3rd assessment means that similarly receives outputs of the 3rd and 4th correlation data means, and a selection table that controls the selection of the selection means selecting and outputting extracted chroma signals by receiving the output of each assessment means. |
