PURPOSE: A shading device is provided to improve convenience in the use and to protect user's eyesight by shading the light, using a liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION: A shading device includes a liquid crystal display device(1) comprised of upper and lower transparent substrates; transparent electrodes and alignment films layered inside the transparent substrates; and a liquid crystal layer; sources of electricity(2) electrically connected to the liquid crystal display device; a drive switch(3) connected to the sources of electricity; an optical sensor(4) connected to the drive switch; a microcomputer(5) connected to the optical sensor and the liquid crystal display device, to supply voltage to the liquid crystal display device; a transparent film intercepting ultraviolet light; and a control switch(7) electrically connected to the microcomputer. The transparent film is coated to the upper side of the transparent substrate. The control switch selectively controls optical conditions sensed by the optical sensor and sent to the microcomputer as electrical signals. Thus, the shading device is easily operated.
