THIN FILM MAGNETIC HEAD, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR AND MAGNETIC REPRODUCING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film magnetic head by which information recorded on a magnetic recording medium in high density is reproduced with satisfactory characteristics. SOLUTION: The reproduction efficiency can be enhanced by providing a magneto-resistive effect layer 11 on the surface opposed to the magnetic recording medium 12. By providing a pair of conductive members 32 opposed to each other via an insulting layer 31 on the surface opposite to the magnetic recording medium 12 of the magneto-resistive effect layer 11, the resolution can be easily controlled by the thickness of the insulating layer 31 and higher recording density can be realized than that in a conventional shield type thin film magnetic head. In this constitution, the reproduction efficiency hardly changed, even if the thickness of the insulating layer 31 is reduced to increase the resolution.
