PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent incomplete combustion of oil when oil-contained sludge is treated at a pre-treatment stage of molten iron. SOLUTION: When the molten iron is pre-treated by adding the oil-contained sludge into the molten iron, the operation is performed under condition of satisfying the following formula (1a). H>=6500-5×T+400×Qs×N+10000×Qg...(1a). In the formula, H: distance (mm) from the molten iron surface to a supplying hole for the oil-contained sludge, T: temperature( deg.C) of the molten iron, Qs: supplying speed (kg/min.ton of the molten iron) of the oil-contained sludge, N: content (mass%) of the oil in the oil-contained sludge and Qg: flow rate (Nm3/min.ton of the molten iron) of carrier gas for transporting the oil- contained sludge.
