PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self alignment type substrate for mounting optical parts, obtaining excellent optical coupling efficiency of an optical fiber and an optical semiconductor element, further being easily manufactured and having a V-shaped groove and a solder dam capable of self alignment mounting, a method for manufacturing the same and an optical module. SOLUTION: The substrate S1 for mounting optical parts comprises a mounting groove to arrange an optical wave guide body 7 and a conductor layer 4 to arrange an optical semiconductor element 8 to be optically interconnected to the optical wave guide body 7 respectively formed on the substrate 1 and is characterized by having a part of the conductor layer 4 formed in a recessing part 3 covered with the lower surface of the optical semiconductor element 8.
