The connector consists of a base (2) and a cover plate (3), between which a board (4) fits. A flange (5) is attached to the bottom of the base and a bolt (9) passes through bores (8, 8') in the base and flange to attach the board to a support (7), e.g. a post. The bottom (25) of the base and the top of the flange form a ball-and-socket joint and the upper bore (8) is sufficiently wide to allow the board to swivel.
