<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of avoiding damaging aligning means or returning means even when the top surface of a sheet-type medium becomes curled and uneven. SOLUTION: Detecting means 96, 97 for detecting the top surface position of a tray 12 are provided to correspond to different positions of the tray 12, respectively. When either the detecting means 97 provided near the aligning means 102a, 102b or the detecting means 96 provided near the returning means 3 detects a range on the top surface of the stacked paper on the tray 12 where alignment by the aligning means or by the returning means is not possible, discharge from a discharge means 3 is prohibited.</p> |
