PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of maintaining maximum printing speed without remarkably lowering the printing speed within the range of the power capacitance of a commercial power source, and an image forming device equipped with the fixing device. SOLUTION: This fixing device is equipped with a paper interval adjusting means capable of changing a paper-to-paper distance from the trailing edge of recording material to the leading edge of the following recording material in a carrying direction at the time of performing the consecutive fixing processing of a plurality of recording materials, and a paper interval control means controlling the paper interval adjusting means so as to maintain the temperature detected by a temperature detection means to be at the specified temperature at which fixing can be performed when a switching means is in a supply power conducting state from the power source to a heating means.
