PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new type insecticidal compound not essentially harming useful insects, environments, etc., having a low toxicity and exhibiting a potent efficacy to medicine resistant harmful insects, an intermediate compound for producing the above compound and an insecticidal composition containing the above compound as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This N-substituted indole derivative is a compound expressed by the general formula (1) [wherein, X is CH, N or a halogen atom; Y is H, an alky, an alkoxy, a halogen atom, cyano, nitro, a haloalkyl or the like; R1 is an alkyl, a haloalkyl or the like: R2, R4 are each independently H, an alkyl, a halogen atom or the like; R3 is H, a halogen atom, cyano, an alkoxy or the like; (m) is 0, 1 or 2; and (n) is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4].
