PAPER FOR OPTICALLY READING USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper for optically reading use excellent in optical readability and transportability in printing and optically reading steps, thus useful as an OCR or OMR paper. SOLUTION: This paper for optically reading use is such that both sides of a substrate where >=50 wt.% of the pulp component consists of a pulp meeting the relationships (1) and (2) mentioned below is coated or impregnated with at least an adhesive, an electroconductive agent and a polyolefin-based resin. Relationship (1): 0.3<=L<=1.0 Relationship (2): 0.3<=d/D<=0.8 (L is length- weighted-average fiber length (mm) measured in accordance with J. TAPPI Paper and Pulp Test Method No.52; d is average lumen diameter (μm) measured by microphotographic method; and D is average fiber diameter (μm) measured by microphotographic method).
