BACKLIGHT AND DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight properly displaying a moving image and further maintaining the same quality as that of the conventional one is displaying a static image and a display device using the same. SOLUTION: The backlight provides display light to a display panel for image formation from the rear side and has a surface light-emitting element 3 and a light emission control means 7 for turning on/off of drive at least the surface light-emitting element 3, and the display device uses the backlight.
