PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image shifter which permits the parallel movement of images within a plane orthogonal with the optical axis of a reimagery optical system without the occurrence of a eccentric aberration. SOLUTION: An image separator 20 connected to a rigid endoscope 10 has a pechan prism 24 which shifts the optical axis of an objective optical system within the rigid endoscope 10, and X-Y stage 27a and moving mechanism 27 which move the pechan prism 24 in a direction orthogonal with the optical axis Ax of the objective optical system and a first imagery optical system 26 which is arranged with its own optical axis in parallel with the optical axis Ax of the objective optical system. The image formed again by the first reimagery optical system 26 in order for the image formed by the objective optical system to shift within the image plane by accompanying the parallel movement of the pechan prism 24 is picked up by a first CCD camera 30 without being accompanied by the eccentric aberration, without inclining from the plane orthogonal with the optical axis of the first reimagery optical system 26 and without rotating within this image plane.
