METHOD FOR DECOMPOSING CHLORINE-CONTAINING ORGANIC COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a treating efficiency can be improved and a treating cost can be reduced in the method for decomposing chlorine- containing organic compounds. SOLUTION: The method for decomposing the chlorine-containing organic compounds comprises a step of preparing the liquid to be treated by mixing a chlorine-containing organic compounds which are objective substances of decomposing treatment and isopropyl alcohol and adding the alkaline aqueous solution thereto, and a dechlorinating step of dechlorinating the chlorine- containing organic compounds by irradiating the liquid with ultraviolet rays where the liquid to be treated is prepared by mixing the isopropyl alcohol solution having <=10 wt.% concentration of the chlorine-containing organic compounds and the alkaline aqueous solution having >=30 wt.% alkaline concentration.
