Vehicle seat has one or more weighing mechanisms (35) on which at least a part of the weight of the vehicle seat (G) is loaded. Each weighing mechanism has a pressure chamber (30) with a pressurized fluid and a pressure sensor (32) for measuring the fluid pressure (P). The weight of the vehicle seat (and driver) is proportional to and determined from the pressure measurements.
