The invention relates to a method for the production of a coil (1), with a coil housing body (2), made from a ferrite material and at least one winding (6), whereby the coil housing body (2), for said coil (1), is at least partly metallised on the outside thereof, by means of a sputter process. The invention further relates to a coil (1) with a coil housing body (2), made from a ferrite material, at least one winding (6) and a circuit board (9) with a coil (1), comprising a coil housing body (2), made from a ferrite material and at least one winding (6). In order to achieve a high mechanical resistance for the connection between the coil (1) and the circuit board (9) on assembly of the coil (1) to the circuit board (9), the coil housing body (2), for said coil (1), is at least partly metallised on the outside by means of a sputter process, such that the above can be soldered to a circuit board (9).
