PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas chromatograph whose minimum detection amount is small and with which a measurement of satisfactory reproducibility can be performed. SOLUTION: A capillary column 12 is inserted into an SUS tube 9 connected to an SUS block 7 until it comes into contact with a flow channel 5, and it is airtightly connected. A makeup gas is made to flow to a gap between the capillary column 12 and the SUS tube 9 from an SUS tube 10 connected to a position at a certain distance from the flow channel 5, and it is possible to prevent a sample gas from flowing backward. The sample gas does not exist in the connection part of the capillary column 12 to the flow channel 5, only the makeup gas having a component of the same kind as a carrier gas flows, and a problem that the sample gas stays in a dead volume is eliminated. A TCD 1 is constituted of an insulating board 2, a thin-film filament 3, a flow channel 4, the flow channel 5 and a flow channel 6 installed in the SUS block 7, the SUS tubes 9, 10 and an SUS tube 11. The volume of the flow channel 4 is very small. The flow rate of the sample gas flowing from the capillary column 12 is sufficient, and an increase in the flow rate by the makeup gas is not required.
