PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hemoglobin concentration measurement system that can properly measure carboxyhemoglobin COHb by detecting a change in transmitted light due to a change in COHb in an appreciable signal-to-noise ratio state and facilitating discrimination between COHb and reduced hemoglobin RHb. SOLUTION: The hemoglobin concentration measurement system adopts a light source 3 as a new light source for emitting a light wavelength in a red/orange range of 590 to 660 nm as a third wavelength in addition to a near- infrared range and a red range, and comprises a light receiving means 6 for receiving light emitted from the light sources and transmitted or reflected in organic tissue, a light attenuation ratio computing means 15 for computing a light attenuation ratioΦof each pair of wavelengths according to such fluctuation in a light-reception output signal for each wavelength from the light receiving means as results from pulsation of blood, and a concentration ratio computing means 16 for computing a concentration ratio at least of oxyhemoglobin, reduced hemoglobin and carboxyhemoglobin according to an output from the light attenuation ratio computing means. Concentration display and alarm display are then provided respectively.
