PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink set for ink jet exhibiting excellent ejection stability, effectively reducing bleeding (color mixing at a borderline part between different colors) and giving excellent printed letter quality, and an ink jet recording method. SOLUTION: The black ink is composed of 4 wt.% of Food Black 2, 20 wt.% of diethylene glycol, 0.5 wt.% of barium hydroxide and the balance of pure water. The yellow ink is composed of 1 wt.% of Acid Yellow 23, 25 wt.% of glycerol, 0.3 wt.% of ammonium chloride and the balance of water. When these inks are employed for recording by generating a droplet by an on-demand type recording head, an endothermic reaction of barium hydroxide and ammonium chloride occurs accompanying deposition of a solid matter at a borderline part between black printed letters and yellow printed letters, which reduces color mixing, while excellent ejection stability is obtained. |
