PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder wherein both of miniaturization of the device body of the recorder and loading property of a paper cassette can be achieved, operability for a user is good and not only the miniaturization but also saving of the use space can be achieved. SOLUTION: The paper cassette 2 is loaded to a portion above a recording head 6 in the device body 1 so as to be detachable in the same direction as the paper feeding direction, and a paper P is supplied from the rear side of the device body 1. The paper in the printing is supplied to a recording section by being inverted from the front side of the device body 1. The printed paper P is discharged to the upper face of the paper cassette 2 toward the front side from the rear side of the upper face of the device body 1.
