PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a metallic dial even if using a luminous member. SOLUTION: This dial 4 for a timepiece comprises a dial body 10 and time characters 11 provided at equal spaces on the surface. The time characters 11 are structured to comprise the luminous member 12 provided on the surface of the dial body 10, and a metal film 13 with light transmitting property provided on the whole surface of the luminous member 12. Accordingly, even if the metal film 13 is provided on the whole surface of the luminous member 12, since the metal film has the light transmitting property, the luminous member 12 absorbs external light through the metal film 13 in a bright place to store it as light energy, and in a dark place, light can be emitted through the metal film 13 with the light energy stored by the luminous member 12. Moreover, since the metal film 13 is provided on the whole surface of the luminous member 12, the metallic dial can be acquired owing to the metal film 13 even if using the luminous member.
