PURPOSE: An artificial floating island for natural water purification is provided which is capable of improving quality of water of pond and rivers using natural materials so as to prevent water contamination due to existing artificial floating islands. CONSTITUTION: The artificial floating island using plant and log for natural water purification of pond and rivers is characterized in that a connecting cord performs a supporting function in connecting and fixing log(50), a plant is planted in a plating mat(30) after connecting and fixing the plating mat(30) to the log(50), and eutrophication of pond and rivers is controlled, and biotope is created by planting a plant and planting the plant in the plating mat(30) after connecting and fixing the plating mat(30) to a plant (buoyant material)(60) having a function of buoyance as the artificial floating island retains both functions of the plating mat(30) and buoyance when inserting a plant (buoyant material)(60) into an external mesh net.
