PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting pole capable of attaching a bracket, and the like, to frames without holing the same, easily attaching or detaching it thereto or therefrom, and moreover securing sufficient bearing power. SOLUTION: The supporting pole 1 comprises two longitudinal members 2 and 3 mutually slidable in the longitudinal direction thereof and a fixing mechanism 5 for relatively fixing them as they are stretched against the frames 4 of a building. The longitudinal member 3 is longitudinally slidable with respect to the longitudinal member 2 and comprises an end member 6 displaceable between a state, in which it projects from the tip end of the longitudinal member 2, and a state, in which it is pushed into the longitudinal member 2 to directly receive the pressing force of the longitudinal member 2 and transfer the same to one of the frames 4, and an urging means 7 for urging the end member 6 toward the frame 4. Furthermore, the fixing mechanism 5 comprises a jack part 8 for slidingly extending the longitudinal members 2 and 3 and an operating portion 9 for operating the jack part 8.
