PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock wave generating apparatus in which suspended particles in a liquid medium can be kept without disturbance of shock wave generation in the region of electrodes without costing on the structural aspect. SOLUTION: The shock wave generating apparatus which can be applicable especially for medical care has electrodes arranged in a liquid medium for loading a high electric voltage for generating electric destruction. The particles added in a shape of powder are suspended in the liquid medium. To hold these particles in a suspension, an additive for providing thixotropy is mixed into the liquid medium.
