PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight measuring device which can accurately and surely measure the weight of an article and perform highly accurate measurement. SOLUTION: When the placing plate 8 of a sorting conveyor 2 on which a flowering plant A is placed is moved on the measurement base 43 of a weight measuring device 42, the support lever 5 and the placing plate 8 of the sorting conveyor 2 move relatively vertically, independently. The weight of the entire placing plate 8 including the flowering plant A is separately measured by a measurement unit 44 without practically and mechanically being influenced by vibration, impact, etc., and measurement information is outputted to an information processor 45. The information processor 45 compares weight information on the entire placing plate 8 including the flowering plant A with previously stored weight information on the placing plate 8, calculates only the weight of the flowering plant A, and decides a class for sorting. When the placing plate 8 is moved to sorting parts d to g corresponding to the decision, the placing plate 8 is turned into a discharge posture, and the flowering plant A is discharged to the sorting parts d to g according to the weight.
