PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for hot-pressure-welding a tough pitch copper wire which realizes good drawability at the hot-pressure- welded part in the tough pitch copper wire. SOLUTION: The method for hot-pressure-welding of the tough pitch copper wires 1a, 1b comprises the pressure welding process by butting the end parts of the tough pitch copper wires 1a, 1b and pressurizing the butting parts 3 at hot state in the butting direction. In the method, a Cu material 4 having low oxygen concentration is disposed between the butting parts 3, and the hot-pressure-welding is performed under condition interposing the Cu material 4.
