PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a cement clinker, which suppresses the increase of sulfur included in the cement clinker and is capable of making small a thermal energy loss generated by suppressing the increase of sulfur and an apparatus for manufacturing the cement clinker which is suitable for carrying out the method. SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing the cement clinker 1 is provided with a kiln 3 in which the cement clinker is formed by calcinating a supplied raw material. Combustible material supplying ports 8 and 11 are provided to form a reducing atmosphere in the kiln 3 by supplying the combustible material into the kiln 3 and to increase volatility of sulfur in the raw material.
