PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect recording and reproduction parts corresponding to a plurality of respective disklike recording media to a host computer by one connection part. SOLUTION: The disk drive device 2 has the recording and reproduction parts 10a and 10b corresponding to the disklike recording media 11a and 11b, pickups 12a and 12b which record and/or reproduce the respective disklike recording media, and motors 13a and 13b which drive and rotate the respective disklike recording media and is equipped with a common CPU 14, a memory 15 as a work area of the CPU 14, and an interface 16 as a connection part for a host computer so as to control the recording and reproduction parts corresponding to two kinds of disklike recording media, the motors, etc.
