PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC-to-DC converter which enables widening of the dynamic range of input voltage, and stabilizes output voltage with proper capability for tracking, even if the source voltage varies. SOLUTION: This is a DC-to-DC converter which receives power from a DC power source of a predetermined source voltage, and performs control, so as to make the output voltage a target voltage by performing switching of a transistor by pulses having a given pulse width, when the output voltage is lower than the target voltage, and stopping switching when the output voltage exceeds the target voltage, and is fitted with a variable duty pulse generating circuit, which generates pulses whose duty ratio is determined according to the ratio of the source voltage to the target voltage, a switching circuit which outputs a pulse as a switching pulse for a transistor, when the circuit receives a pulse and is turned on, and a control circuit for turning the switching circuit on, when the output voltage is lower than the target voltage.
