A NOVEL METHOD TO INHIBIT INFLAMMATION AND TUMOR GROWTH BY TYLOPHORA ALKALOIDS

Use of tylophora alkaloids for preparation of medicament for treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory disorders by inhibition of transcription and translation of proinflammatory molecules, and induction of immunosuppressive cytokines and inhibition of the transcription factors. Use of tylophora alkaloids for preparation of medicament for treating tumours involves inhibition of growth of both animal and human tumor cells by up regulating proapoptotic proteins and trail receptor and downregulating antiapoptotic protein. A method of treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory disorders by tylophora alkaloids by bringing about inhibition of the transcription and translation of proinflammatory molecules, and induction of immunosuppressive cytokines and inhibition of the transcription factors comprising administration of tylophora alkaloids at a dose of 160 µg/kg/day to 600 µg/kg/day. The method of treating tumours by inhibiting growth of both animal and human tumor cells by upregulating proapoptotic proteins and trail receptor and downregulating antiapoptotic protein as brought about by tylophora alkaloids.
