PURPOSE:To realize miniaturization and inexpensiveness, by composing a package-shield part equipped with an optical fiber insertion hole and having a receptacle-related part united with a package of light emitting diodes to make a receptacle unnecessary and besides making even the plug unnecessary according to its usage conditions. CONSTITUTION:A package-shield part 7 is of thick cylindrical shape, with a recessed part 7a formed on its bottom surface to insert a package ground part 1 there, and being jointed so that the periphery of the recessed part 7a is made striking against the upper surface of a flange 1a. The central hole of the package-shield part 7 serves as an optical fiber insertion hole 7b to insert the terminal end of the optical fiber 8, with its inside part enclosed with a thin bottom part 7c. DC voltage applied between leads 2a and 3a enables a plural number of light-emitting diodes 4, 4,... to be concurrently lighted. The light generated by these light-emitting diodes 4, 4,... is made incident to the optical fiber 8 from the transparent bottom part 7c and propagated in the fiber. This composition makes a receptacle unnecessary to realize miniaturization. |
