<p>The present invention relates to a system and method for canceling echoes from telecommunications networks by providing a system on chip having a delay block (100), a predictor block (106), a coefficient memory block (104), a media-specific access control (MAC) (102), a normalization block (110), and a voice activity detector (108). In addition, the echo canceller performs line echo cancellation, far end echo cancellation, acoustic echo cancellation, and fax/data tone detection. The invention uses multiplexed analog delay lines and an analog accelerator chip to perform and accelerate echo canceling, thereby, enhancing channel density and optimizing scalable design of the chip, and avoiding an expensive chip with large on-chop logic and memory.</p> |
