The invention refers to the non-destructive measurement of the ripening degree of individual vegetable products, preferable fruit, in which such a measurement is carried out by engaging each individual product between two seizing and conveying elements, i.e. a moving upper means and a lower accommodating means, in which the latter travels along a pre-defined rectilinear path, and the upper moving means is adapted to displace, also on the vertical plane, with respect to a pre-defined level line. When moving, said upper moving means is subject to an adjustable force tending to compress the vegetable product and, therefore, tends to deviate, i.e. move away from its original position accordingly. By measuring the vertical deviation of the upper moving means across a pre-defined displacement path the possibility is given for the pliability of the surface of the vegetable product, and therefore the ripening degree thereof, to be assessed along with other factors involved. <IMAGE> |
