PURPOSE:To obtain a high orientation state by making the relative speed between a magnetic coating film and an oriented magnet variable without changing the feeding speed of the magnetic coating film. CONSTITUTION:The relative speed between the magnetic coating film 2 and the oriented magnets 31-42 is made variable by moving the magnets 31-42, resulting that the time of the film 2 subjected to orientation processing is changed independently of the coating speed. On the other hand, the time required to dry and solidify the magnetic coating film 2 is changed by changing the coating speed. The two time factors important for the orientation are controlled independently, then the highest orientating state is attained.
