PURPOSE:To obtain paprika orange which has a high purity and good quality, by bringing crushed paprika fruit into contact with CO2 gas in a supercritical state to separate essential oil and a yellow pigment from the paprika fruit and bringing the paprika fruit into contact with CO2 gas in a supercritical state. CONSTITUTION:Crushed paprika fruit is introduced into an extraction tank 1 and kept at 38-50 deg.C. Pressurized CO2 gas is introduced into the tank 1 from a bomb 3 to elevate the internal pressure of the tank 1 to 110-135 kg/cm<2> and to bring the paprika fruit into contact with O2 gas in a supercritical state. The extract is transferred to a separation tank 2 and the pressure is lowered to extract and separate essential oil and a yellow pigment and to deodrized the paprika fruit. The temp. of the extraction tank 1 is kept at 38-50 deg.C and CO<2> gas is introduced into the tank 1 from the bomb 3 to elevate the internal pressure thereof to 200-500 kg/cm<2> to thereby extract essential oil and a yellow pigment and to bring the paprika fruit into contact with CO2 gas in a supercritical state, whereby a red pigment can be extracted. |
