PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope of which the distal end hard part can be simply reduced in diameter without altering the arrangement of a transparent member by forming the protruded part of the chamfered surface of the distal end hard part into a tapered shape when the distal end hard part is reduced in diameter without altering arrangement of the transparent member such as an object window or an illumination window. SOLUTION: The distal end hard part 20 has observation window glass 52 and LG(light guide) window glasses 60 and 60 arranged to the distal end surface thereof and the edge of the distal end surface is chamfered into a curved surface shape to form the chamfered part 42A. When the distal end hard part 20 is reduced in diameter without altering the arrangement of the observation window glass 52 and the LG window glasses 60, the LG window glasses 60 of the protruded part of the chamfered part 42A are cut off in the tapered shape. A black adhesive 64 is applied to the tapered surfaces 60A.
