PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling device for a metallic thin plate capable of easily performing an alignment between a punch and a die, controlling quality of a coupling portion, and processing the punch and the die. SOLUTION: A polymerizing portion of two metallic thin plates 3, 4 is partially sheared with the punch 1 and the die 2 to form a notch, and is bulged through plastic deformation between movable blades 2c, 2d and the bulged portion of the metallic thin plates 3, 4 is upset-rolled with the punch 1 and anvil portion 2b between movable blades 2c, 2d and is bulged into the notch portion 5 sheared from metallic thin plates 3, 4 to form the coupling portion 9. The edge blade portion 1a of the punch 1 is a circular arc shape having clearance portions 1c, 1d. The die 2 is composed of movable blades 2c, 2d with a block construction having circular arc shaped cutter portions 2c1, 2d1, and by imparting or closely contacting a clearance L2 between blocked surfaces of the movable blades 2c, 2d, the clearance portions 2c3, 2d3 are formed.
